In response to continued growth, our client is now seeking to appoint a Senior Investment Analyst. This role is integral to their mission, supporting the investment process from assessment through to execution, and helping drive impactful investment decisions making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct rigorous due diligence on potential investments, including financial model sensitivity testing, impact assessment, market research, and competitor analysis.
  • Support negotiation of deal terms by engaging independent experts (as needed), conducting thorough due diligence, assessing financial sensitivities, evaluating impact, and preparing detailed investment cases.
  • Contribute to—and sometimes lead—the development of investment recommendations for the fund’s Investment Committee, including Advisory Committee responses, portfolio updates, and impact reports.
  • Actively support portfolio investments, with potential for board or observer representation as required.
  • Aid in the ongoing development of team capabilities and tools for investment analysis and fund management.
  • Participate in industry events and conferences to support New Zealand’s start-up ecosystem and impact investment community.
  • Represent the fund externally when required, working in coordination with the investment team.
Your Background
  • 3-8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in venture capital, social enterprise or a start-up environment, but open to candidates with backgrounds in corporate finance, property investing, banking, funds management, or related fields.
  • Strong financial analysis and modelling expertise.
  • Strong analytical skills with a quantitative focus.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with founders and community members.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and hands-on management style.
  • Enjoyment of the pace and variety found in a lean, non-hierarchical, but highly networked team environment.
