Senior Credit Manager

Our client is a leading global bank with new offices based in the CBD. Due to continued growth there is an opportunity for an experienced Credit Manager  who is interested in making the transition from commercial credit to corporate and institutional lending or you may be in corporate credit wanting leadership responsibility?

Reporting to the GM Risk and Compliance you will be responsible for: 

• Reviewing and recommending actions for credit applications submitted by corporate banking for new and existing loans.
• Perform independent risk assessments of corporate credit facilities in line with the bank's risk appetite.
• Providing input to the banks overall lending portfolio and on going monitoring and risk management on clients.
• Advise on high risk or deteriorating customers and or industries.
• Supervise and mentor the credit team, developing the technical, credit and risk capability of the staff.
• Being the subject matter expert for the bank and working to enhance the bank's credit risk boundaries, policies and practices. 
• Deputy chair and a member of the bank’s credit committee. 
• Building and maintaining appropriate internal and external relationships to build a comprehensive understanding of the current and emerging risk environments. 

The Person:

• Must have a sound understanding of commercial, corporate and institutional lending and knowledge of industry sectors.
• Have a demonstrated track record of prudent credit management.
• Must have people management experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
