Finance Manager - Insurance

Our client, a subsidiary of a well regarded group, is a leading insurance provider committed to delivering excellent service and protection to clients. Due to consistent growth they are looking to expand their senior team and appoint a dedicated Finance Manager to look after the organisations financial requirements.

We are seeking an experienced individual with a background in regulatory filings and collaboration with actuaries. This role is ideal for a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and control all cash movements between the subsidiary and the Group.
• Supporting the CEO with financial analysis, providing monthly reports and recommendations.
• Act as a key member of the senior management team.
• Manage all internal and external reporting, including regulatory submissions.
• Conduct cash flow forecasting, monthly results analysis, and regular forecasting.
• Oversee the annual budgeting process.
• Review premium rates, pricing, and risk rating.
• Ensure compliance with both the subsidiary and Group policies, including delegated authorities.
• Serve as the direct point of contact for the appointed actuary and liaise with the RBNZ.
• Oversee annual reinsurance reviews.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
• Deep insurance sector experience and knowledge of the business drivers of an insurance company
• Experience in regulatory reporting and working with actuaries.
• Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel; Power BI experience is a plus.
• Highly advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Highly analytical and commercially focused
